Do I need any special plumbing?

No. All we require is access to a standard outdoor cold water tap and a drain or location
to allow the water to drain when we empty your hot tub.

 

What are the electrical requirements?

The hot tub requires access to a standard 13-amp mains socket, either indoors or outdoors. For safety, the socket must be at least 3.5 metres from the hot tub.
All of our hot tubs are supplied with a built-in Residual Current Device (RCD)
for additional electrical protection.

 

Is the hot tub suitable for children?

Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Lay-Z-Spa recommends that children under 8 years old should not use the hot tub.
For older children, we recommend lowering the water temperature in accordance with
our health and safety guidance.

 

How many people does the hot tub accommodate?

Our Lay-Z-Spa Toronto hot tubs comfortably accommodate up to 6 adults, providing plenty of space to relax.

 

How long does it take to heat up?

We use a portable water heater to speed up the heating process, particularly during colder months. Depending on the weather and starting water temperature, the hot tub typically reaches its recommended operating temperature within 10 to 24 hours.

 

How much does it cost to run?

Running costs depend on the outside temperature and your chosen water temperature.
As a guide, Lay-Z-Spa estimates average running costs from around £1.70 per day, although this may vary.

 

How does the hot tub stay warm?

The hot tub must remain connected to the electricity supply throughout your hire.
Its insulated foam walls, efficient heating system and insulated cover work together
to maintain a consistent water temperature while keeping running costs low.

 

Is the hot tub electrically safe?

Yes. Every hot tub is fitted with a Residual Current Device (RCD), providing protection against electrical faults and ensuring safe operation when used correctly.

 

How is the water quality maintained?

Before every hire, we thoroughly clean, sanitise and refill the hot tub. During installation we test and balance the water and provide all the chemicals you'll need throughout your hire, together with simple instructions on how to keep the water in perfect condition.

 

What chemicals do you use?

We only use manufacturer-approved water treatment chemicals recommended by Lay-Z-Spa. All necessary chemicals are supplied as part of your hire package, along with clear guidance on their safe use.

 

What deductions may be made from my security deposit?

Your £200 security deposit is fully refundable, provided the equipment is returned
in the same condition as it was supplied (allowing for normal wear and tear).

Reasonable deductions may be made for:

Damage to the hot tub, gazebo or supplied equipment.

Lost, stolen or missing accessories.

Excessive cleaning due to misuse or contamination.

Damage caused by glass, smoking, naked flames, pets, sharp objects or failure
to follow the operating instructions.

Damage caused by using unauthorised products such as bubble bath, oils, bath salts
or non-approved chemicals.

Costs incurred from draining and refilling the hot tub due to contamination.

Unnecessary call-out visits resulting from user error where no fault is found.

Additional costs if the hot tub is not available for collection at the agreed time.

Unauthorised extension of the hire period.

Any other reasonable costs incurred as a result of the Hirer's misuse of the equipment.

If the cost of repair, replacement or any other loss exceeds the value of the security deposit, the Hirer will remain responsible for the outstanding balance.
